Can't see Palettes - MacOS
For some while I've been wondering about what I see in my MuseScore implementation. Basically I can't get the Palettes to work. I have to open the Master Palette then try to open the other palettes. So often this just doesn't work. I've been looking to see if any preferences or other settings have been changed.
Yesterday I watched one of Marc Sabatella's sessions - and he had things working as I would have liked - and the panels were clearly visible.
Maybe I should download a new version - but this has been a problem for some while now.
I guess that trying a new download/install might just fix this - so worth a try.

I think I fixed this - though don't know what happened.
I did try downloading a new copy - though I think that was still set up the same way.
All I was seeing was what looked a bit like a search bar - with the words "Add Palettes".
I guess that my list of palettes to load was wiped, so was just empty.
Once I started adding in new items to the list, the palettes appeared as I'd hoped.
I have set this to "Open only one palette at a time", but I'm puzzled as to how my palette list became emptied.
Maybe a glitch ...!?

I can't think of anything that would have deleted the palettes other than you having selected and deleted them one by one. The option to only open one palette at a time is not relevant; the closed palettes still show as title bars you can then open. So a literally empty palettes window would only happen if the rest were deleted somehow, and MuseScore never does this on its own. Was this in a standard workspace or a custom one?

One other case that might make it look as such is if you enter two spaces into the search field, so the palettes are filtered all away due to no matches shown..

Good point! But, that wouldn't survive quit/restart of MuseScore, and apparently this has been going on a long time. Also, it wouldn't explain the ability to add the palettes back. So I don't think it is what was going on here. Definitely something to keep in mind, though! Not just spaces, but any search string with no matches.
What keys are you pressing when you try to view the pallets?
Does f9 work?
If you go to the [View] menu and tick the Pallets box, does that work?
What happens if you select a different workspace (see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/workspaces)?
What happens if you revert to factory settings (see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings)?
From that screenshot I can see you already have the most up to date supported version. Version 4 is coming but is still at the unstable development stage. I would not recommend using that for anything other than curiosity.
A reinstall rarely solves problems as many settings are preserved. Revert to factory settings does not preserve settings (obvuiously") and is a much better bet.

Thanks for replying. F9 works (now). View works (now).
Choosing a different workspace (now) shows different selections - but they seem to revert back to "normal" when the workspace is changed back.
Somehow it looks as though all the palette options were cleared. Maybe I did that myself - but certainly not intentionally.
Anyway, thanks again.
