So Many Errors in Scores

• Feb 12, 2022 - 06:28

I accidentally had to take a full year of Musescore because I missed the free trial cancellation by a day.

Overall, I'm disappointed by what I see. Many scores have glaring errors in them and so many are poorly typeset with large gaps between staves or uneven note spacing.

I have yet to download a piece of music that doesn't have wrong notes or other errors in it.

Musescore subscribers should be more alert and point these errors and poor settings out to the creators and if the scores are not fixed or improved, they should be removed from the site.

When my subscription ends, I will cancel and not look back or regret anything except the money that I had to hand over this site.

To be clear, this site is for discussion of the music notation software. Your post is not related to that, it's about what individual users happen to have created with it and shared on musescore.com. Yes, there are a lot of terrible scores on that site, just as there are a lot of terrible videos on YouTube, but that's not the fault of the software used to create them. Also, there is no reason the folks over on musescore.com should be critiquing their users' scores, any more than YouTube is critiques their users' videos.
