Have you sklected the appropriate sound in the Mixer as per the description in the Handbook of how to change sounds? If so, and it still doesn't work, could be the soundfont itself is bad. But to be sure, please attach your score, a link to the soundfont in question, a screenshot of your Synthesizer window, and precise steps to reproduce the problem., Then we can understand and assist better.

The soundfont probably is bad, is it worse than musescore drumline?
