Need a little guidance on how to scrub imported MusicXML

Beginner to MuseScore here. I've imported output from my DAW, Logic, to MuseScore. In it there's a piano melody line, which I did quantize before exporting. However, there were some overlapping notes in the DAW version of the piece (they needn't be, but that's the state of the midi data I have), which I believe is the reason I now have a piano stave containing two voices in MuseScore, with a lot of one note + rest combinations.
Now I want to scrub the information in MuseScore. With reference to the example in the image, this is what I'm experiencing:
1. I remove rest under the B note. This is easy to remove because the rest is in the 2nd voice.
2. The following note is an A, but here the rest is on the 1st voice. By doing a little trial and error (I'm new to MS), it seems that to be able to delete the rest I have to exchange the voices.
My issue is that when I exchange the voices in bullet 2 above, there's a negative side effect that a rest is re-introduced on the preceding B again - even if the the B note was not selected during the operation.
How can I break out of this? My goal is to simplify the stave content to one voice.

If it's possible to simplify to one voice, Tools / Implode will do that. If you continue to have trouble, please attach the actual score instead of a picture, and then we can advise further.
Also, it seems your quantize operation only fixed note starts, note stops. Probably there are additional options in Logic to quantize more completely. In general, it's usually easier to do as much of that cleanup as possible in before exporting, as DAW software usually is able to provide more sophisticated control over timing without all the complications that notation adds.

Thank you for the input. I'll try the Implode function.
And yes, I've since the export learned that more can be done before exporting the midi and importing it into a notation program, but I was a bit hesitant to go back and tinker more with the midi in the DAW for this particular project (although I used a separate project alternative for this, so it wouldn't have changed the original mockup).
