French Horn not sounding
Hi all,
In a certain part of a piece that I'm composing for 13 instruments, the French Horn is not sounding. I checked the Mixer and NONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS WERE ON MUTE. However it is still not playing (AND ONLY FOR THAT CERTAIN SECTION). I wonder how this problem can be fixed?

It does at beginning, only stops sounding in bars 36-39.

It is playing there as well, but still at the pp dynamic from m24 as you have no new dynamic in place.

Yeah when I copy the section into a new document it plays normally. I think it is a bug in the specific file however when I copy the entire thing into a new document it doesn't play the french horn in the section either. I just wanted to report this issue and find some solutions if there are any.

It is not a bug, but a Level 8 error, i.e. your fault ;-) You'd need to cancel out the previous pp by e.g. an mp (the default velocity in absence of any) in the first measure iof the new section

It is doing exactly what you're asking it to do, namely play really softly at the pp dynamic level, which you added as an explicit instruction in m24. You'll need to add a new dynamic if you want it to change at that point.

Here's your F Horn written as a part (with all measure numbers showing larger):

Notice that you placed a pp dynamic at measure 24. After measure 25, the french horn rests for 10 measures then resumes at measure 36. It does sound, but at pp. So it plays measures 36 - 39 at pp per your last request. It only seems like it's not sounding because the pp gets lost with all the other instruments playing much louder. Then at measure 40, you add an ff dynamic and so the horn can be heard at that point.
I just wanted to report this issue and find some solutions if there are any.
The solution is to place the ff (or some other "loud" dynamic) at measure 36.
It is no bug.
