Cannot Remove Selected Range
When I click on one measure it puts a strange kind of selection square with the horizontal lines extending to the right. The last measure selected is always like that.

Doesn't look like the score from that image.
And that issue doesn't show even when appending a couple measures. Not in MuseScore 3.6.2 on Windows 11 at least

I'm sorry, I think I replied to your earlier message. I have it pretty much the way I want it now.
Thanks so much for your help.
There are definitely cases where the selection rectangle can be drawn a little funny, and as mentioned, if you attack the actual score instead of a picture, and give precise steps to reproduce the problem, we can investigate. The think I know is normally this happens if there is confusion about the end of the selection - whether it includes the barline or not, for instance. Normally it doesn't matter at all, though, and the display glitch is completely harmelss.
This definitely wouldn't relate at all to inability to delete. If you're saying you use that command and nothing happens, then my guess is, you pressed Ctrl+I (Cmd+I on Mac, probably) at some point while not editing text, which unfortunately is the default shortcut for an unsupported and completely command whose main function is to disable the remove selected range command. Sounds crazy, but somehow it's true. So, press Ctrl+I (Cmd+I) again to get out of that weird mode, and you should be back in business. Or just restart MuseScore.

That second paragraph was hard for me to understand, but cmd-i worked.
Thank you very much.
