Quadruplet appearance changes

• Sep 21, 2022 - 20:02

UPDATE: I don't see how to delete this post, but I figured it out. Thanks anyway. :)

Hi, everyone,
Please see attached image with examples 1, 2 and 3 shown.

  1. If the second quadruplet begins with a quarter note, the lines indicating where the quadruplets begin and end are shown.
  2. If I change the value of that quarter note to an eighth note, the lines disappear. Also, the beams are not where I'd like them to be.
  3. How I would like the notation to appear. (I created this in Photoshop, but want to do it in Musescore.)

Any help is appreciated.

I had to type "5." [digit number 5 and then a period] instead of just "5" to be on the value of a dotted quarter note instead of just a quarter note prior to typing command-4 for a quadruplet of eighth notes. I was in 12/8 time rather than 4/4, so this adjustment made the bar's notation work perfectly.
