Deleting a beat from a whole piece
I'm scoring a song in Musescore and recognizing that I have an errant beat in the middle of the piece. When I delete the note, it simply replaces the note with a rest, leading to an extra beat at the end of the song. How do I delete the BEAT so that the rest of the notes will be correctly placed in their measures?

Use Ctrl+Delete or Cmd+Delete on the note/rest.

that worked within the measure, but it didn't recalculate the rest of the measures. Now I just have a measure short a note. Does that make sense?

MuseScore will not automatically move notes like that. You need to cut the music after the extra beat and paste it so that it is where you want it.
