Select all ghost (cross-head) notes?
Is there any way to do this so that I can style them all together?

Thanks, looked like the solution but I've just given it a try and unfortunately it doesn't distinguish cross-heads from other note heads.

Try again.
Works for me on OS: Ubuntu 21.04, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548021370, revision: 3224f34

Would you happen to be trying this on a TAB staff?

Thanks but I think that it's now become clear what is going on; seems like TAB crossheads are not different to regular notes.

Uh oh... I get inconsistent results depending on the TAB staff's origin.
Did it start as a TAB linked to a standard staff? ...and then the standard staff was deleted?
Were notes copy/pasted into the TAB staff from a standard staff?
If it originated as a single TAB staff created from scratch, how did you get cross-head notes? 'Head group' is greyed out in the Inspector, and the Noteheads palette does not respond.
Please explain your ultimate objective in more detail.

I'm guessing these aren't cross heads at all, but "ghost" notes that simply display an "X". Probably no convenient way to select just those, since officially they count as "normal" noteheads.

They are indeed ghost notes but in the TAB section of the handbook they come under crosshead notes.

I think that I can detect them via a plugin.

Single TAB staff and cross-head notes by using shift-X
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature#Crosshead_notes
Objective is to set Y = -0.2 on all of them so that the cross centre is on the TAB line instead of sitting just below the TAB line.
Looks like these are considered to be normal notes by select > more > notehead type
