Inserting text such as lyrics.
Hi all,
Sorry, but yet another question.
I am trying to insert text below the staff (such as instructions). I have looked through the Online Handbook, but I cannot seem to get anywhere with it.
Any tips/ideas, please?
Thanks.

Also, Fingerings - can I make them bolder? And can I add extra (I need 6,7,8 for what I am doing)

Double click the fingering and you can change the text to whatever you want. Sounds like you're using the palette for this, so after you change a fingering, you can hold ctrl+shift and drag it into the palette to use again.

Select a note or measure where the text will go. Select Staff Text from the Text palette. Type your text. Drag it to below the staff. This is one way to do it.

Put all the fingerings in. Then select one of them. Right click. Select/All similar Elements. All fingerings turn blue. Open the inspector. scroll down to Text and choose a bigger pt setting.

Ctrl+t for text, type what you want, switch the placement to "below" in the inspector.
Thank you all!
If they are lyrics, use the actual lyrics function - Ctrl+L.
Most instructions should be placed above the staff; below the staff is supposed to be reserved for dynamics and other expression. Ctrl+T for instructions above the staff, Ctrl+E for expression below. But either can be flipped to the wrong position for occasional special purposes by pressing "X".
