Problems with measures/stave and staves/page
One week ago I downloaded musescore and started arranging a piece for my classical guitar students. Many years ago I worked a lot in a notation program called Mosaic, so I maged to solve most things as I went along.
When I started to add fingerings (both left and right hand) to my arrangement, musescore would suddenly go from 2 measures/stave to 1 measure/stave.
It's hard to see some logic in the programs behavior as some staves that remain 2 measures/stave contain more notes/information than the ones that got turned into 1 measure/stave.
I've tried the "add/remove system brakes" as well as clicking the option for system brakes every 2 measures, but nothing happens.
Another thing is that I'd like to have fewer staves/page.
Right now my first page has 9 staves, the second page has 10 staves while the last one has 7.
Both 9 and 10 staves/page is way to cluttered and compressed.
First I need to fix my score into 2 measures/stave and when that is done I'd like to have 8 staves/page.
All help is very much appreciated (and needed...) !
The measures that results in one measure/system only contain 16:notes + fingerings (see attachment)

If you want 8 staves per page then add a page break at the end of the 8th stave (system in Musescore terms). But first you need to sort out the number of measures per system. To provide more help with that, please attach the score (.mscz file) you are having difficulty with, otherwise it is just guesswork.

Your attachment is just a picture. We can't tell what formatting settings you are using from that. Please attach the Musescore file, the .mscz file, as requested.

Thanks for your input/time!

Just managed to solve the problem :-)
Now I just need to make the final measure shorter.

If you want the final measure to not reach the right margin, append a horizontal frame and play with its width. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/frames#horizontal

Thanks again!
I'm trying this but the frame appears at the beginning of the measure, not at the end.

That seems like you inserted the frame rather than appending it. Again, it is easier to help if we can see the .mscz file.

Thanks, that solved it!
