MuseScore 0.9.6 beta 1 released

• Feb 2, 2010 - 10:03

The first 0.9.6 beta release is available for download: Windows | Mac OS X.

Before you start testing, be aware that files saved using 0.9.6 beta do not open correctly in earlier versions of MuseScore. This is due to necessary changes to the file structure.

As always make sure you backup your scores before installing this beta release. If you encounter any issue, don't hesitate to report back to the forum or the issue tracker.

Hi Shadowbane,

The upcoming beta release has been communicated on the developer mailing list but unfortunately, the Linux distribution maintainers have not come back yet with their beta release. Since this is all volunteer work, it might take some time before the beta release is available for every platform.

Nothing should stop you from asking your distribution maintainer (non complete contact list) to make a beta release. Perhaps you could even create a beta release yourself? If so, don't hesitate to let us know.

I have built a ubuntu version from the 2717 nightly. I am runnning an Ubuntu 9.10 with some modifications (newer Qt...). If someone tells me where to put the binary or how I can make a package from it (is there something in the makefiles?) or to whom I could mail the binary, I'll be glad to provide it. |I do not know though, how well this will run on a stock Ubuntu system.

Extract from build:
-- Found Qt-Version 4.6.0
Qt lib found at /usr/lib
Alsa detected.
-- jack (jack audio connection kit) >= 0.98.0 found
portaudio detected /usr/include /usr/lib -lportaudio -lasound -lm -lpthread
-- Configuring done

If you need ldd output, please let me know. If this should be posted elsewhere, please let me know too :-)

Is the bug fixed, that a SVG-export can't be seen on a WINDOWS-PC.
Even at the computer of the owner.
The bug could be fixed, if the setup install the necessary ttf-fonts in the font-folder of windows.
It should be an easy programming whit enormous success.
SVG-exports could be processed by inkscape or outer SVG-vector-programs
n order to convert for example fonts into paths.

Better it naturally, everything would be exported into paths ,
but I'm already content with little things.

Greeting from Germany

I need SVG-export to write some article about music, songs and playing guitar in the German wikibooks.
