How to disable Musehub autostart?
I disabled Musehub in Windows 10 - Startup Apps, but I see the service still running in the background of my task manager whenever I boot.
When I try to disable it in Services by turning Startup Type off, the option is disabled. How can I fix this please?

Have you tried from inside MuseHub to click on the settings cogwheel and then turn off the option "Start Muse Hub automatically when you log in" ?

Then I think this should be reported in Github as a bug. When things have a setting to turn them off, I'd expect them to be off.

The persistence of muse.service.exe has been reported. See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/14000
It seems it is currently by design, but the design is under review.

Running
servicesas admin still doesn't enable the Startup Type combobox. Strange, I always used to be able to change service options here. I don't know if the problem is Musehub, or something in a Windows update that broke this for users.In reply to Running services as admin… by Richard Cooke
I think it's MuseHub, because I can change the startup type of other services.

Hi,
You can use Autoruns.exe from www.sysinternals.com and then uncheck "muse hub background service" (filter with 'muse'). It will prompt you to restart autoruns in admin mode, so you can uncheck it.
I have this problem. I googled it and there were a few sites suggesting that MuseHub is a kind of malware. The MuseScore people just say that it's updating things, but I see no reason for it to run when I have restricted it from starting.
As one said - nothing is for free. So I wonder what price we're actually paying with this suspicious behaviour.
