Changing the text font (Musescore 4)
Is there any way to reset the default font (Edwin) for items like composer, title, etc? I've looked in the manual but did see it mentioned, nor did I see it in Preferences. thanks

Is there any way of easily setting all text styles in a score to one font?

No

... but it is possible to change every desired font to your preferred choice in a blank score. Then use Save Style so that you can apply the same front choices to any new score with Load Style.

Yes, but that ain't exactly easy ;-)

On the other hand you only have to do it once. After that, it's as simple as "Load Style" ;-)
And incidentally, it's the technique which we used to maintain style control over the thousands of songs transcribed for the OpenScore Lieder Corpus(*):
1. Over the early months, gradually evolve a Style File which maintains a consistent and pleasing layout for music and lyrics.
2. Then use the final agreed Style File for the generation of all template scores for future song transcriptions.

I've done Format-Styles-Text Style. I can change the style to muze Jazz Text....but can save it. When I click out it goes back to default.
I wish you'd just leave things as they are. Everytime you "improve things"....I have to relearn the entire system

Probably the OP meant:

... and the possible cause is failing to click the OK button after making changes in Format > Style... > Text Styles > ... ?

I had this problem because I couldn't see the OK button. Pressing Enter didn't do it. Trying to adjust the size of the dialogue box proved fruitless. In the end, I found it by turning my laptop through 90 degrees!

Double click still puts text into edit mode.
What is missing in Mu4 is the text edit tool. Or rather it has moved into the Properties

Edit mode works good for me. Yes, I probably meant text edit tool. But when I try to change title font from Format-Style it doesn't work. Also I added some shortcuts in Preferences ( I used to use in MS 3) and they don't work too. Maybe I need more powerful computer.

What do you mean "moved into the properties?" How do I access that? I am unable to edit individual pieces of text without affecting the entire text style throughout the entire project. This feature was possible in Musescore 3.

Can text style for selected markings like tempo changes (rit, accel, etc.) be italicized or bolded, overriding the default settings?
In Musescore3, whenever I entered Staff Text mode [Ctrl+T], options for fonts, sizes, etc would show up automatically in the tool bar below, making editing on the fly very easy. [see attached] I can't seem to find this option in MuseScore 4 or MusicScore Studio. What am I missing? Thanks!
