Instruments holding out past note value
The song I'm working on starts out with most of the band holding out a whole note followed by a quarter note hit by the entire band. Problem is, for whatever reason, many of the instruments are holding out past the whole note and making the beginning sound very muddy. Originally I had a fermata on the first whole note, however, I deleted the fermata after this issue started, yet the issue persists. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on or how to fix it?

Not without seeing the score - the .mscz file. Otherwise it is pure guesswork.

The trumpets, trombones, euphonium and toms still have fermatas. They are correctly holding on and glaring at the rest of the band for missing the fermata.
