Shortcut not working
Since updating to MuseScore4 my shortcut is not working. I always use the number "8" on the numpad for the 8ths when I write music (4 for quarter notes, 2 for half and so on). But since MuseScore 4 the shortcut for 8ths is not working.
I already checked, and I've got the most recent version - so no updates available.
Anybody else has this weird problem and knows how to help? :D
It drives me insane! :D

Short cut for 8ths is "4". Scroll over the note values in the note toolbar and see what the shortcuts are.
It's not a weird problem of MuseScore's making. MuseScore previous versions and the current version use the following by default:
3 = 16th note
4 = 8th note
6 = quarter
7 = half
8 = whole
(etc.)
If 8 used to do eighths for you and 4 did quarter notes then it sounds like you set those up as shortcuts specially.

If @tina_3107 had redefined the shortcuts in an earlier version and has now upgraded, the shortcuts will of course be reset to the default settings. These are the ones you mentioned.
On the other hand, wasn't there a problem with keyboard shortcuts 8 and 9 on Mac or MacBook?
(She didn't name her OS, yes ...)

Yeah sorry! My bad! I changed the default settings. I specified that I want them, that way. And all of the shortcuts are working, except for the 8ths... Even when I change to a different number on the numpad...

Okay, so use menu item: Edit > Preferences > Shortcuts to change it in MuseScore 4:
You will need to override any warnings and be diligent about inadvertent duplications or eliminations.

Thanks for your reply! I just checked and it looks the same as your picture... I also tried changing it to a different number, but any shortcut for the 8ths is not working on the numpad. All the others do. I'm so confused :D
