MuseScore 4.2.1 crash on exit; M2 Mac, macOS Sonoma

• Mar 11, 2024 - 15:19

Frequently - but not always - after working in MuseScore 4.2, when I quit I get a "MuseScore quit unexpectedly" alert; see the attached screenshots and crash report.

I'm running this on an M2 Mac Studio running macOS 14.2

I suspect this is a side effect of running x86_64 code on an arm64 processor, but there doesn't appear to be a native arm version of MuseScore yet. Might this be added when the next stable version is released?

Crashes here too, 100% of the time, on Quit from Musescore 4.3.1:

OS: macOS 13.5
Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.3.1-241490902,
revision: 026c26b

On the bright side, MuseStrings legato playback is improved. Previously it was quite lugubrious.

MuseChoir sound better too. The biggest problem is the "huffs" that occur when notes finish at rests.

It crashed two out of two times for me today. It seems to depend on the day: maybe it is affected by the weather??

OS: macOS 14.5, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.3.2-241630832, revision: 22b46f2

BTW - The version dump above clearly shows it is operating in emulation mode (x86). I have an M2-based MacBook Pro.
