Is there a digital kind of 'highlighter' that can highlight notes on the score?
I think there's a highlighter that is automatically applied when exporting to youtube?

Why the adjective "digital"? You can change the colour of a notehead. Or, are you looking for a vertical coloured box that follows the notes as they play?
