when I copy bass clef why is treble clef included?
This has happened to me a few times. In the attached song, when I try to copy the bass clef of the second measure, the treble clef gets included. (see attached screenshot)
I'm also having trouble with this song to add notes in the bass clef. The cursor doesn't seem to be going there and I don't know why. This is in the first measure.
Thanks,

The score you attached is the usual mess you get from a pdf import and I couldn't be be bothered to find which measure in it was shown in your picture. So a bit of guesswork is involved.
The green colour of the notes in the bottom stave shows that they are in voice 2. I suspect they have been moved (or placed there in a pdf conversion process) to the bottom staff using the cross staff notation facility.
I suggest, just re-enter them where you want to copy them to. Fixing the mess of a pdf import is often much more trouble than entering everything from scratch.

I did say the picture was from the second measure in my post. My file is the output from Sheet Music Scanner, an iPhone app. I appreciate your advice, but it would be good if I could understand why it copies both measures. Maybe there is some toggle or setting in the program to turn that off? Perhaps that would be faster than starting from scratch.
This is a problem of the PDF conversion program. And there is no bass clef - both are treble clefs!
In measure 2 and some others, the notes in the second staff still belong to the upper staff. You can see it: You have selected the upper staff, but the notes of the lower staff are also selected - see the green color (voice 2) in your screenshot.
Use the selection filter to select only the notes of voice 2 (green) and press Ctrl+Shift+Up Arrow. This will move them to the top staff without changing the pitch. Use 'x' to adjust the stem direction or exchange voice 1 and 2. Result:
The same problem is also present in measures 4 and 6 - and in many others. A lot of reworking is necessary.
The (non-existent) bass clef already has a whole note in measures 1 and 2, which means that you cannot add any more notes there in voice 1. If you need to do this, you must use one of the other voices.
Note: importing from a PDF is almost always associated with problems and you will have to do some rework. So compare measure for measure with your original template.
By the way: Measure 2 is too long - it is 33/32 instead of 32/32 = 4/4. See the small light gray '+' sign. This can also be seen in some other measures and must also be corrected. But in many cases this is a problem of a MIDI import.
