Nested Complex Tuplets
Hello, I am recreating a score and I am trying to nest a 3:5 tuplet inside the last part of a 9:8 tuplet in 2/2 time. I cannot figure out how to do this because there is no rest that is equivalent to 5 eighth notes and I cannot copy and paste into a tuplet.
I have attached a screenshot of the measure I am trying to recreate.

Well, I can tell you how to do a 3:5 tuplet, but I don't know whether that will help you with the complex tuplet you've described. *crossing fingers*
Select (or create) a blank measure. Right-click the measure and click on Measure Properties (or Bar Properties, if you have the UK version). Set the Actual Duration to be 5/8. Select the "whole measure rest" and press Ctrl+3 to turn it into a triplet. Now copy that triplet elsewhere.
Thing is, I don't know whether that will work if you paste it into the octuplet.

That won't work - "Cannot paste into a tuplet".
I don't think it is possible.
Even with XiaoMigros' Advanced Tuplets plugin https://musescore.org/en/project/advanced-tuplets , i could not do it.
The best i came up is this:
Not the same, but it looks almost right.
It needs to be "hacked" by manually editing mscx file.
Here You are

Neat. The equivalent timings can be done from within MuseScore but without resorting to nested tuplets (but why? and who is going to be able to play it the same as someone else?):

HOW ON EARTH did you do that???? :-O That's SOOOOO impressive!!!

Prepare it in MusesScore:
And than save mscx (uncompress mscz), open mscx in text editor where:
1. change inner tuplet from 3/4 to 3/5
2. remove last eight rest

So kewl!!!
Took me three tries to get it right, but now I understand more how MuS and tuplets in MuS work.
Thank ya verrra kin'ly!!!
for record: there is already open feature request for more complex tuplets.
