Delete unnecessary rests in score
Hi, I imported a MIDI file to create a score and there are certain rests that appear to be unnecessary, but for some reason Musescore will not allow me to delete them. Can anyone assist?

The rests of voice 1 (blue) cannot be deleted. Voice 2 - 4 rests can be deleted!
But you can:

Thanks, though I'm not sure what you mean by your second comment. I'm kinda new to this.

There is a command "Tools -> Voices - Exchange voice 1 &2" (or 1&3 or all combinations of voices 1 to 4).
You may then have a problem with the direction of the stem. Press "X" to change the direction of the stem of the selected note(s) - preferably directly after swapping the voices.

My modification with Mus 3.7.
First system with exchange voices, second with hiding rests. I have not made any changes to the third.

OK, thanks
There is way more to this than deleting rests. There is also the problem of all the questionable notation caused by the midi format.

Yeah, I noticed that and was cleaning it up. How did you do this so I can do it myself next time?

Most often it was a case of changing a voice to the other voice. The staccato 1/4 notes were probably 1/8 notes originally. You don't have to correct the notation. It just depends on what you are going to do with it. I couldn't help myself, and had to fix things.

Got it. Thanks so much.
