Musescore 4 - Suspended Cymbal Rolls!
I am loving all of the new sounds, but I still really need suspended cymbal rolls! This is really the only thing that is bugging me about musescore, I absolutely love everything else. Can we get a suspended cymbal sound or at least a soundfont we can download? Thanks!!

Muse Sounds has suspended cymbal and it is glorious. Look again in Muse Percussion.

I see. Is there an actual suspended cymbal instrument? If not I might try repurposing an existing cymbal and importing that soundfont. I'll definitely mess with that! thanks

Definitely works to add cymbal then change the sound in the mixer. And of course, add rolls to the notes to get that effect.

This sound is indeed beautiful, but from my experimentation, it doesn't roll! Or at least I can't get it to roll. When I play the score in the attached picture, Musescore instead plays a minim at mezzo forte, then a quaver at fortissimo in the new measure. Does anyone know a fix?

I certainly get rolls when I add the tremolo from the palette. In order to understand what is going on with your specific score, we'd need you attach that, not just a picture.

Hi, I have a similar setup with a note with Tremolos. I do seem to be getting rolls but the volume fluctuates randomly throughout the semibreve and then suddenly jumps to forte on the quaver (see the attached score).

Nevermind, I fixed it. To those wondering: go into the mixer and find the cymbal. Change the sound at the top to Musesounds > Muse Percussion > Sus. Cymbal

oh, i'm sorry! i've been installing my soundfonts to musehub instead of musescore 4! i'm still new to musecore.
So if I have a whole Percussion part with someone who's supposed to be covering multiple percussion instruments, can I only change the soundfont to one percussion instrument? There's no way I'm writing this entire part with just suspended cymbal as all the sounds, haha

Hey, were you ever able to figure it out? I’m having the same issue here, too. From what I can tell, it seems impossible, but I’m not entirely sure.

This also frustrates me, making an Aux. Percussion part needs to be way easier, or possible at least lol. Percussion feels like it got pushed a step back in the new update besides the nice soundfonts.

Well, nothing is changed about percussion aside from the new sounds, so if you wish to combine multiple instruments onto one staff, you can still do that - just set that one staff to Muse Sounds. Then you can still use invisible staves to add better sounds. And this is something already identified as an area for improvement, so hopefully in a coming update.

What do you mean "set that one staff to MuseSounds"? You can only select one individual soundfont from MuseSounds, not the entirety of MuseSounds like you can with MSBasic. At least I'M unable to do so. If I'm missing something please let me know.

Typo, I meant set it to MS Basic. Or anything really, if you're going to use the invisible staves for the real playback.
