Playback quality
Successfully installed 4.4.3 on my Acer Spin 312. Everything seems to work as expected ... but, the quality of playback is appalling. It was never like this in previous installations. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am having the same problem since updating my mac to Sonoma 14.7.1 today. Suddenly playback is (more) mangled — tone keeps dropping out, with extremely brief interruptions of static noise. I have no idea what is going on. My score is not complex and the CPU does not seem to be overloaded or anything, judging from the Activity Monitor.
As is so often the case, updating my OS just created more problems and solved none. Hope they can fix this problem because playback is no longer acceptable at all and I now consider the app largely unusable.
Can confirm the same type of issue on my Mac Studio (base M1 model). My hardware should be more than capable of handling this program and many more running simultaneously, but even with the Basic included sounds, I'm getting popping and stuttering on playback.
OS: macOS 14.6, Arch.: arm64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.3-242971445, revision: eb6b367

In Edit>Preferences>Audio + Midi make sure your actual audio device (not default) is selected. And try different Buffer settings.

Thanks for the suggestion; so far even the highest buffer setting (and selecting my specific audio device) still elicits the popping/dropouts/jitters as before. It's a little more fluid now, but there are still flaws in the playback without discernible pattern to where they will occur.
I will play around with different audio devices to see if maybe it's only an issue with the built-in headphone out.
