Voice 2 does not align properly

Dear MuseScore Brain Trust:

I am unable to get the system to place the A (note) to the right of the B (note). Have tried switching voices and no luck... Are there any ideas (AKA Standard Answers) on how to fix this?

In the Properties tab , turn off Auto-place then you can adjust the horizontal offset of each note. But, I dispute that the notes were wrongly aligned by default.
