Input/Playback problem- indefinitely repeated notes!!
Please help! I have an updated version 4.4 and this problem is persisting. Upon entering a note the sound and note will start to repeat indefinitely and I cannot make it stop.
I am a new user, migrated from Finale so I'm unfamiliar with everything, and I'm unable to input without this bug happening at least once per session. It's making work impossible. If you know of the fix, please point me in the right direction. I would really appreciate it.

Does it have anything to do with staccatos and hairpins? Are you using the sounds that come with MuseScore. Or did you download sound from the HUB.

It doesn't seem related to articulation or hairpins- a single regular quarter note will set it off. I'm using the built-in piano sound that came with MuseScore.

So, you enter a note and it keeps sounding? Can you post a score that does this. Just a few measures will do if they have this problem.

Yes it just keeps repeating. I can't control the note, the sound, or anything. It keeps playing indefinitely and I have to quit the program without saving. In this score I simply clicked the first note and it filled in the remainder of the measures; the sound is almost continuous (i.e. there are barely any distinctions between notes).

Perhaps you enter your score using a MIDI keyboard?

I have the same problem a staccato note in measure 12 stave 3 sounding continuously destroying subsequent harmonies - also happens later on but have not debugged where exactly yet

Yes measures 8, 12, and 18. I changed all the staccato notes to 1/8ths.

Your score plays fine for me, but when I pause anywhere in the music the problem occurs.

I have the same issue where a random note plays continuously, and the issue appears intermittently. Sometimes it plays a note correctly, but on repeat, the note continues on and on. It finally was corrected by removing all staccato markings. It then plays correctly, but with full note values.

Interesting. Plays fine on my system. No matter how many time I stop. There are no staccatos in my version. There is nothing incorrect about using 1/8th notes instead of staccato 1/4 notes. Works whether this gets fixed or not.

With this score, or a different one? Which version of MuseScore? Doesn't seem to be happening in 4.5.2.

With every score, even with updated version. I've gone back to Finale for now... : (
This is happening to me as well. Weird thing is that the first time I ran the program, it was perfectly fine. Now after a few days of not using it, this behavior is happening.
I'm using the latest version in Ubuntu Linux (AppImage).
