Cannot enter piano dynamic with Ctrl+Shift+P
I was trying to enter the dynamic marking p-mp on a repeated section of music. I discovered that while Ctrl+Shift+f and Ctrl+Shift+m work just fine, Ctrl+Shift+p does nothing. I replicated this across several scores, including a brand new score.

Did you change what those shortcuts do? They have nothing to do with dynamics in my system? 4.5.2.

They used to be used while editing the text of the dynamic. However, the way that works has changed. You can just enter the text using letter keys without modifiers. The handbook describes this way down in this section https://handbook.musescore.org/notation/expressive-markings/dynamics under the heading "Text as part of a dynamics item" (much scrolling required).

To your point bobjp, you have to be in dynamics mode (Ctrl+D or insert a dynamic then edit it) for any of these shortcuts to work. I am also in 4.5.2 and have never changed any keyboard shortcuts.
To your point SteveBlower, you can enter text using letter keys, but as stated in the handbook (thank you for linking it, I checked it earlier but didn't scroll down far enough), the font used will be for Expression text, not dynamics text. The workaround you suggest works if your dynamics font is just your expression font + bolding, meaning it does work in a default score. However, for the score I am working on right now, this is not the case.
I found another workaround:
1. enter a piano dynamic
2. highlight the piano dynamic
3. copy it
4. add a hyphen and Ctrl+Shift+M
5. paste the piano dynamic
6. voila, p-mp in my dynamics font
I hope they're able to restore Ctrl+Shift+P functionality soon!

OK, thanks. That explains it. I use keyboard entry for almost nothing. I use a trackball mouse. Mush faster than a standard mouse, but slower than keyboard. Less to remember.
