1 1/2 measure up measure
I am trying to transcribe a vocal piece to edit it, and i have run into a small problem. The beganing of the piece as a up measure but it has 3 eigth notes so that makes 1 1/2 beats in a 4/4 time and im trying to figure out how to edit the measure without deleting the rest.

The handbook describes how to create up-beat measures (also called pick-up measures). See Measure operations , "Duration".

I looked at the handbook and guess what it dosent apply to this. the duration works in whole counts or Quarter Notes, I have a Up Measure that has 3 eigth notes in it, so that is 1 1/2 quarter notes which to make it work right in duration it would be 1.5/4 but the program dosent handle eighth note up Measures only full counts.

Often in Anacrusis one uses a rest just before the pickup. Using an 1/8th rest will solve your problem.

The handbook gives a quarter note example but it doesn't mean you are limited to quarter notes. Use an actual duration of 3/8 for three eighth notes.
I changed the measure property to 3 over 8, and it worked.
