how to add a note?!

I'm a complete newbie at Musescore, but I'm finding it pretty easy so far. However, one thing I can't figure out how to do: I left out a note in the middle of the passage I was inputting, so now I want to add it - I don't want to overwrite anything that's already there, I just want to shift it all along one beat. I can't figure out how to do this, and can't find anything in the handbook. Any hints?
