metronome control?

Is there a way to control how metronome works?
For example, for the 6/8 music, the musescore gives 6 beats. But most of the time, I want 2 beats.
Also, I have this weird music with some measures with 7/8. In that case, I would be happy to have just 1 beat per measure.

I searched for both handbook and forum, but couldn't fine any info.
If this feature is not available, I can make a feature request.

Thanks in advance.

There is no customization currently that I know of, so sure, feel free to file a feature request. Meanwhile, the solution is to simply create your own metronome track manually. It's pretty unlikely you'd ever get exactly what you want out of any automatic system in cases of odd meters.

Thank you for the reply.
I just filed a feature request.

Meanwhile, what is the best way to add my own metronome track? The only way I know how is to add a new instrument. But I don't see "metronome" in unpitched percussion. I guess I can use some kind of drum for this, but metronome sound is more preferable.

I don't think we use that, though - at least not in a way the user can access? Otherwise the metronome wouldn't work when no soundfont was loaded, but apparently it does. i tried looking at the code to see how the sound was generated but couldn't find anything that low level. I saw where the events were generated, but not where they were associated with sounds.
