I have a suggestion I would like to put to the Musescore team. How do I go about this?

Thanks. It's about tempo changes - accel and rit. The programme I used most often before discovering Musescore was a programme called Rhapsody which was written for Acorn computers which we used for many years in the schools in Swansea in which I taught.

Playback was brilliant, especially linked via MIDI to a keyboard or sound generator, although printing was poor and very slow.

One of the best things was the tempo change options. There were two. One was an instant change at any point in the score - very similar to Musescore - but the other was extremely useful. Having set the starting tempo at the start of the score you could, at any point in the score instruct the tempo to change over a number beats.

For example, if the starting tempo was crotchet = 60 you could, at any point in the score, instruct it to reach for example the tempo of 120 over 24 crotchet beats.

There was a similar option to increase or decrease volume during the score.

This worked wonderfully. I wonder if the Musescore team might consider something like this in the next version. I, for one, would find it extremely useful.

I believe the only option at the moment is to place a series of new tempos in the score. Am I missing something?

Playback of gradual tempo changes is definitely on the lsit of features being considered for a future release. meanwhile, it is easy to get a good appromixation by adding one or more hidden tempo changes to simulate the gradual change. It doesn't usally take many to get a very convincing result.

Playback of dynmic changes is already supported. Just use the dynamic from the palette to specify the desired dynamics, and add hairpins from the lines palette to say where you wan tthe gradual changes.

Do keep in mind, though, that the primary purpose of MsueScore is notation, not playback, and features are prioritized accordingly.

I hope no one minds that I'm commenting here. I just have a suggestion for Musescore. I used Musescore to notate music for a film, but I noticed there wasn't any feature that would allow someone to import video into Musescore. I was wondering for the next version of Musescore, there should be a feature to import video, so that it would be easier to sync music from Musescore to a film while notating the music because the videoscoring feature can only be used after the music has been notated.
