Renaming parts
I have just discovered this software, and am hoping to be able to use to compose a brass band march which I need to have completed very soon. I have been through the pages to set up a score but have found that some of the instruments I want are missing, or are in the wrong clef.
Is there a way I can set up my own score entirely from scratch and so name each part and choose the clef myself?
Also, how do I group the bar lines together for the different sections?, and bracket these sections at the beginning of the score?
Thank you
Diomede

You can change the name that appears at the beginning of the staff by double-clicking on the instrument name, which opens a text editing box, delete what's there, and change it to what you want. You will also need to double-click the short name on the 2nd page of the score to change it to something else, but it will stay changed on the 3rd page and every page after. If you extract a part (using File->Parts), it will be changed on the parts as well.

You are responding to a very old posting, and this feature was changed in 1.0. Right-click in a measure (on a staff) so that the pop-up menu contains the Staff Properties entry (the measure will become surrounded by a blue box). Select Staff Properties and change or delete the instrument names.

Thank you for this, I manage to make it.
I am trying to compose a piece for Flute and Live electronics. Is there a way to import or draw symbols like in a graphic score for example? Would you have any idea about that?
thanx in advnance,

You can't draw except simple lines with the line palette but you can import any image. See Image
I would just really recommend reading the Handbook.
Best regards.
