Missing/Added values in my measures

• Jun 16, 2011 - 23:42

I just recently started using Musescore, and it is wonderful except for random measure values going amuck. The first composition I completed contained two of these errors. The first measure of my flute part could only hold 3 quarter notes and a doted eight note, even though it was a 4/4 time signature. I even checked the measure properties, and the actual and nominal value was still 4/4. I have found no way to fix this problem, even though it plays back as If the problem did not exist. Secondly, in another 4/4 bar for treble piano, two extra eight rests appeared along with a dotted eighth, a sixteenth, a quarter, and two eighth triplets. This error seemed to occur after pasting this measure from a previous passage. Upon selecting the previous adjacent measure, the two eight rests area selected as a part of it. Again, playback was no problem. However, by dragging the two rests off the page, they did seem to disappear. It is no problem for playback, but i would like my scores to be accurate when displayed.

Thanks for any tips or advice

using windows vista and 1.0
some times it seems that I can add values by clicking on a empty section of a measure while a value is selected while not in notation edit mode.

Posting the actual score would help, and/or if you knew exact steps to reproduce the problem. But in general, when this happens, it tends to be copy/paste operations that trigger this, especially when copying partial measures. Even that usually works, but every once in a while it doesn't. If you catch it in the act and find the exact series of steps to reproduce, I'm sure that would help the developers a ton!

The best way to protect original work is to get it out so that people can see that you were first. There is no advantage to trying to hide something. Everything is built on the shoulders of giants.

I can select a file to attach, but when I select the "attach" button, it loads for a second, until an information window pops up saying:

Javascript

An HTTP error0 occurred .cbr/>/en/comment - upload/js

(then there is an option to select...) stop executing scripts on this page

and then an ok button

If I don't select "stop executing scripts on this page," it sends me right to the text I will paste below. If I do select it, when i try to save the post it sends me to the following text anyway.

Here is the text...

oops, just a second, I copied something else by mistake, I will post it in the next post.

I hope this means something to someone, because i don't have a clue. I just thought that perhaps it is the browser I am using (Opera 11). I'll try another one and get back to you.

I just discovered something similar in a topic I posted (had a few other errors - this latest discovery possibly the reason).

It could serve as a test case to possibly pinpoint the error for future versions.
