Brackets for violin
Would like to mark the beginning of 3rd positon and end with a bracket. Is there already a feature for this?

Not sure what kind of bracket you mean, but it sounds like maybe you want to use something from the Lines palette. Try the one toward the end containing the text "VII", then right click the line to edit the text as you see fit (you can also change the configuration of hooks etc).
If that doesn't help, please psot a picture showing what you are trying to do.
