Musescore won't load file from Audiveris
So, I want to make a few changes to a really nice piece that my wife and I are working on. I downloaded and installed Musescore and then did the same with Audiveris 4.1beta. (I chose Audiveris because it was recommended in these forums.) Anyway, to test it I scanned a very simple score into pdf format, ran it through Audiveris saving as a musicxml file (that seems to be the only choice). Then I opened Musescore and loaded the new file and........the screen is blank.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Would you share the MusicXML file? even privately? You can contact me via my contact form.

The page was copied from a copyrighted book, so it shouldn't be used for anything besides checking out these programs. Be sure to delete it when you are done. Thanks!

This is not a MusicXML file. It looks like an Audiveris XML script file. Read the Audiveris doc again about exporting to MusicXML. It should be in File -> Export or something alike.
It contains nothing copyrighted btw ;) no notes, nothing, just the digitization phase you apllied to a PDF file on your desktop. Also note that there is no way for me to delete a file on the forum, so it you don't want to post a file here, or post it just for a limited time, host it somewhere else and post a link.

Thanks for your help. The Audiveris documentation is for version 3.3 -- apparently they don't have any written for 4.1 yet. Still, it ought to be in there somewhere. I'll start digging......:>). If I have more problems, I'll post them here. Thanks, again!
Success! lasconic's comments put me on the right track. I hadn't realized that the "store script" option in the File menu doesn't save in xml format. So, searching for an "Export" option I found two. The first is at the bottom of the Step menu. I couldn't see that clicking it did anything other than make my screen blink at me. So, I kept looking, and the Score menu has options for "Export" and "Export as". Choosing the second option, it saved the file just fine, using the xml format. I then opened that file in Musescore and it pulled it up without any problem.
Now I need to play around with Musescore and learn how to use it. Sounds like fun!
