I'm not a Mac user, but you could search on Github to see if yours is a new problem not yet reported.

A quick search showed several Closed (i.e. fixed) issues:
Some shortcuts with Cmd/Opt/Ctrl don't work on macOS in 4.4 : https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/24497
Opt+Shift+... shortcuts not working on Mac : https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/25314

I cant figure out how to install the previous version. I can download appimage files and stuff and try clicking on them, putting chmod +x ~/Applications/MuseScore-Studio-4.4.3.242971445-armv7l.AppImage
in my terminal, it says no such file. Is there a way to install it simply by just clicking a download, as it was when it was the latest version? I am not a huge techno person. If someone could post a link here to install version 4.4.3 that would be super helpful. Without keyboard commands it's very hard to use musescore.

It isn't lit up or on (see i'm typing lowercase). , but i think you're onto something, it thinks the caps is stuck for some reason. maybe it's the underlying software or compiler or something?? what's the new Qt thingy that it is running, how many versions has that been a part of MuseScore?

ok but command delete still doesn't work, unfortnately, i tried it with caps lock on and off, with shift and off, all combinations...that's the only way i. know of to really delete a blank measure. I guess copy and paste the whole damn piece from the end backward can be a workaround, but please can someone fix this soon or help us have an easier install process of the reverted version 4.3 or so? thanks!

It worked with most things, but not the space bar for start playback. I think it's a clue at least. Something in the code somewhere thinks that the caps lot is on when it's not and vice versa.

Can you please tell me how to get the older version installed again? I couldn't figure it out or find a thread on the boards that answers how to do that. Thanks.

Nope, can't open these files now since they were made in a newer version of musescore.

This is really getting frustrating, it seems like something that could be an easy fix. I guess I"ll go make a github account and try to get the feedback across to the developers. It was fine before, I wish they hadn't changed it and kept bugging me to update, I only did it so that the popup would stop popping up and now I've started composing several pieces with the buggy version and I don't know if there's any way I can convert them to a working version.

OK, now I figure out the probem. DCouse, are you multilingual? Do you have a Viet setting on your computer, perhaps? I do, because my partner is Viet and it's a hand-me-down computer, so sometimes it accidentally gets toggled on and that apparently farts up everything. Space bar is working now to start and stop play at least, and when I put it back into Vietnamese mode it stops working again. Nailed it...I hope this time...
