Feedback needed on a waltz
Hi, beginner composer passin' through with a piece
please be as harsh, but constructive as possible. I've been composing since
the age 14. I'm 17 now, but haven't taken it seriously for the past couple months. Self taught
mainly through Youtube, art of composing, and Schoneberg's book about composing.
'Nuff said, here is the piece

Two little remarks (more outwardly):
First is there a reason, why you've used in measures 7 and 37 in the bass clef 16th notes and 16th rests instead of eight notes with staccato?
The second: usually you don't have to insert two instruments for one piano, you should add the piano as one instrument with a treble and a bass clef.

For the first one, no actually not - I can fix it right away
For the second one, I wanted a more quiet bass, so I added 2 pianos
and tweaked the volum for the bass so that it didn't "override" the Soprano - I'm not sure
If i want to tweak that, because as I mentioned, i wanted the melody to "stick out" more.
Thanks for the answer though!

You could add dynamics to the piano staves and make them span the staff only, not the instrument.

As in say pianissimo for the bass and no dynamics for the soprano?

Yes. Just add those Dynamics to the staves, then alter their range via inspector from instrument to staff. See attached
If you want to use the mixer on them to change volume, solo or mute them though, your method is exactly what is needed currently
Instead of lots of writing, I thought it was easier to show on the score. (see attachment)
summary:
1. If the melody remains the same, change the accompaniment.
2. As if the melody needs to be connected to each other; The same applies in accompaniment.
