What text/lyrics fonts does musescore.com recognize?

• Aug 12, 2017 - 21:52

When I uploaded a score to musescore.com it substituted the text and lyrics fonts that I had been using. That, in turn, changed the spacing and layout of my score. Is there a list somewhere of fonts that musescore.com recognizes? I'd like my uploaded scores to appear just like they do on my local system.

Next to the FreeSans/FreeSerif font which is built in and guarantees the cross-platform portability of your score as well; the following fonts have been confirmed as supported on musescore.com:

  • Arial
  • Courier
  • Courier New
  • Georgia
  • Times New Roman
  • Trebuchet MS
  • Verdana

I seem to recall that support for Google Fonts has been included recently as well, but I've not tested that, so I can not (yet) confirm that.

There is currently also no way to specify which font should be used as a fallback font on the site. The server makes it's own guess on what matches "best".
