Boxed Text
When double clicking text, the text pallet opens at the bottom of the screen enabling italic, bold and slanted text. How about adding "boxed text" to those options? You can see how it would apply on text measures #1 and #35 on the attached score. Thanks

Right click the text -> text properties -> check frame, change the margin and width at will.

I'm not sure if that can do what I want. My lines of text in the attached score refer to rehearsal marks. I only want those marks boxed.

If rehearsal marks are what you want, Musescore has the ability to add rehearsal marks.

If you add the text as rehearsal marks (ctrl-m), they are automatically boxed. But in any case, you can use the dialog mentioned to add boxes to any text you want, either on a per item basis (right click, text properties) or for sll ele, ents of that style (style / edit ext style, choose which specify text type ou wish to box).

Actually, I suspect what he wants to be able to do is box _just_ the text referencing the rehearsal marks (the B and D in the first comment), and not the rest of the text.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. I didn't notice that text under the staff and thought he was referring to the oridnary rehearsal letters above the staff.
You can get this effect, of course, by creating these as separate items and manually positioning them to create the illusion of a single line of text. Not sure, but I kind of suspect it will turn out to be difficult to get MuseScore to allow "boxed" as a character style type within a line of text, as I'm betting this isn't supported by the underlying text rendering engine in Qt. Another alternative is to provide boxed rehearsal letters as separate glyphs in the fonts provided with MuseScore. I know this is what Fnale does with the "Jazz" font.

I wouldn't want to take that bet. But, I still believe my suggestion would be the best to get the desired result.
See attached for the way it should look.
