Seond Verse Different
Sometimes there are more syllables in the second verse than there were in the first verse. So there is no note corresponding to the extra syllable. I have seen in sheet music where they put ( ) around a note to indicate that it is not played int the first verse.
Is it possible to do that in MuseScore?

Select the note and in the accidentals palette double click the () symbol.

Or the Noteheads palette. Currently either does the same, but using Noteheads is more "correct" and might the distinction might matter in some future release.

The () is in the basic workspace palette for Accidentals while Noteheads is in the Advanced workspace.
@Marc They act like the same symbols are used for both palettes. Am I mistaken?

Good point about the workspaces - worth reconsidering, perhaps.
Currently, they do indeed act the same. But it's been proposed that the () in the Accidentals palette actually add a parenthesized courtesy accidental, or at least parenthesize an existing accidental on that note. So probably best to get used to using the proper command for the situation.
