Portamento
Hello,
I'm revising my guitar arrangement of "Jeanie With the Brown Hair" by Stephen Foster. and I can't figure out how to add the portamento into my score. The portamento in the original may be seen on page 3 here, on the word "Oh!" after the fermata.

My guitar version, part of a pending publication, is attached. Note that I will revise the bass line in that measure to allow for the portamento.
I already searched the handbook under portamento and came up empty-handed, so I'm hoping someone can help here.
Thanks
Glenn

Hey Glenn,
You could notate the portamento as grace notes attached to the note on the word "I".

Grace notes don't allow the attachment of Lyrics, which is why I didn't suggest that solution in my post below.

Yes, yes...you are completely correct! I didn't think of that.
In this case I'd opt for changing the measure duration with an additional 1/4th note and make that a 7-let, turn of the number/hook display for it, set its 'chord' property to small in the inspector. Hide the additional rests in the piano staves.
