error: Unknown CMake command "QT5_ADD_RESOURCES".
This happened every time I try to compile MuseScore! I've tried both Windows versions, Cygwin64, and a Ubutu Linux Virtual Machine! Same problem, every time!

Did you follow the developers' handbook's instructions?
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook#Compilation
Which branch are you trying to build and which version(s) of Qt do you have installed?
Not sure, but I think this comes from the wrong version of cmake itself - be sure your PATH is correct. It works if you follow the compile instructions precisely, but even the slightest deviation can throw things off.
