• Jul 11, 2018 - 16:20

on 7/11, was running v2.2.1 since it's release. running fine
Using Widows 10

1 - opened a score i have been working on (In_Your_Eyes.mscz)
2 - ran the chord identifier plug in (first time i used it). It worked fine
3 - made a copy of the score (In_Your_Eyes.mscz)
4 - renamed the copy (In_Your_EyesDrums.mscz)
5 - Deleted a score (In_Your_Eyes.mscz)
6 - closed program
7 - tried to reopen program minutes later. Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y. Musescore failed to open.
8 - tried to reopen. Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected N. Musescore failed to open.
9 - I restored the deleted score from the "Recycle Bin" and tried to reopen. Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected N. Musescore failed to open.
10 - tried to reopen. Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y. Musescore failed to open.
11 - after several more tries, i deleted musescore 2.2.1, and reinstalled it. Program installed ok but didn't open and threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y a few times and N a few times. Musescore failed to open.
12- after several more tries, i deleted musescore 2.2.1, and installed 2.3.1. Program installed ok but didn't open and threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y a few times and N a few times. Musescore failed to open.
13 - I found a thread that indicated i could start musecore from the DOS box with a "-F" flag to restore defaults. I did and Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y. Musescore failed to open.
14 - I uninstalled 2.3.1 and reinstalled another download of 2.3.1. Program didn't open but threw an error dialog "Previous Session quit unexpectedly. Restore Session? Y/N". I selected Y. Musescore failed to open.

In reading the link you sent me, i saw that it EXPLICITLY STATES that when you run the program from the DOS box (Window key + R), any of the switches you use must be capitalized. I attempted to start the program again from the DOS box with the -F switch set, and it worked. I lost my preferences, but.. it worked. Thanks very much.
