MuseScore 2.3.x crashing frequently - update
I've been using the MuseScore 2.3.1 update for quite a while now and I have consistently noticed issues with crashing when opening the synthesizer. I do not have exact steps to reproduce the issue. However, I noticed that after using MuseScore for a while, opening the synthesizer can sometimes cause MuseScore to suddenly freeze and crash. I have also noticed freezing with other windows such as with mixer. As I have stated, I don't know how to reproduce the issue so that it's easy to follow step-by-step. But I can say that the crashing is consistent and always happens when I open the synthesizer. Can anyone help?

Is this happening when opening the synthesizer shortly after starting MuseScore or also after a longer run time?

Thank you for your speedy reply. I would say that it happens more often after a longer run time. I'd give an estimate of about 10+ minutes.

Using MDL?

Not really. I do have MDL installed and have the SFZs loaded on Zerberus but I wasn't working with any scores that use MDL.

Still having it installed has a huge influence on the startup time and maybe on mixer and synthesizer too

Ah. So could that be what's causing most of the lag and crashing then? Would it be possible to reduce this in MuseScore or would I have to live with the instability?

Remove MDL, as long as you're not using it?

I guess that works. I'm wondering though if future MuseScore updates would address issues relating to extensions
