I wouldn't consider 3.0 to be stable enough to do anything important. It's still subject to crashes and corrupt scores.
It is alpha and as such by definition not stable, but we're getting closer day back day.
I haven't yet seen it corrupting scores.
A 2nd alpha will be made available shortly, but you can also use a current development build. All available from the download page

There was an issue with a score being imported and saved corrupted. I've also had a couple of scores saved and unable to be opened in MuseScore, one was fixed along with the bug, the other is still unusable in MuseScore.
