Insturment Names Problem
Please see pg. 4 and beyond. of attachment. Note that in the Brass section, no names. why cant I get them to appear? I should not have to type them in for each page. The arrangement of names I have on pg 2 is the set up used by Wilhelm Hansen publishers of Copenhagen for the Sibelius symphonies. I thought it would be cool since you just put in one name for 3 or 4 brass instruments, very efficient. But maybe I cannot do that on MS? Will I have to delete the brass and start all over in the Instruments edit? (It seems that MS wants the instrument names to be on EACH staff of a particular instrument?

OK, I'll review the Handbook on that and try it. Thank you.

OK, I used a short name for brasses, it does propagate throughout the score, but insists on being only on the top staff of the instrument staves. I can easily select them and move them down so they are centered between the 2 staves of the brass instruments, but when I save this and close the file, when I re open the file, the names have gone back to the top staff etc. Is there some way to make them stay centered? (See page 3 on.)

As long as all of the instruments are always seen, you can press enter to create a space or spaces before the name. You may need to change the space between the two staves to make it look good though.

Not the shortened names?
To be fixed as mike320 says

I don't think I said enough to make it clear. This can be done on both long and short names as needed for one instrument. Then delete that same kind of name on the other instruments this is supposed to represent. So if you're centering it on 2 staves, use the return on the first instrument and delete the name on the second instrument. If it affect the next 3 instrument, delete their names.
