Impossible to keep score layout from V2 to V3.
Opening a V2 score in V3 either without reset is completely awful and unusable, either with reset destroys all fine tuning you have applied to positioning in V2.
While most of this fine tuning should be better replaced with reset and auto placement, it isn't always the case and you don't have any other choice currently.
Suggestion:
One should have a third possibility in which the layout of the score in V3 should appear exactly (or almost) as it was in V2.
It doesn't mean V3 should be able to fully behave "the V2 way", it means that V3 should be able to respect positioning from V2 when a V2 score is opened and set all elements in no auto place and necessary offsets to be positioned as they were in V2. (offset starting from V3 default place).
All further work in the score would use V3 layout engine.
Comments
Almost all fine tunings done (and needed) in 2.x are not needed or look bad in 3.0 and most of the time loom better by default i.e. after reset

Pretty much the same back when we migrated from 1.x to 2.0
