Inserting and moving sections
I'd like to be able to select a whole section and move it to another part of the score without needing to insert measures.

So use copy/cut and paste, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/copy-and-paste

Paste will overwrite existing measures. You have to insert measures to make room for the paste.

That's right. I want to be able to select a section, cut it, and then paste it at the end of another section, or at the beginning of a score. I don't want to have to go to where I want the thing to go, insert measures (which means I have to move the contents of the measure before which I had to insert measures) and all that.
Yes, I want to do exactly what you're asking.
My use case is that I'm trying to engage in a lot of creativity by moving solo/verse/chorus sections around at different places in the song. And now I have >10 instruments, and so systems are very large vertically. Copy/Paste --- if you miss one beat or worse, one instrument --- will mess up your score. And counting how many measures there are and inserting before/after, and then copy/paste, and then going back to delete is fraught with errors and tedium. Worse, things like repeats don't seem to travel and have to be rebuilt.
I don't want to think about measures and beats. I'd like to define entire sections (typically verses, choruses, solos) like a locked region that I can just drag and drop around without any risk of detail inside getting modified. I don't have to worry about grabbing the right notes and beats and instruments. Furthermore, wherever I drop it, those measures automatically get inserted into that spot; nothing gets overwritten (dangerous). Content shifts to accommodate, just like Insert Measure would do, but 50x less work. Then I demo it. I may not like it and I'm going to move it again. There will be lots of this trial and error, and the copy/paste method is so much effort, I lose my creative flow trying to compare ideas.
I know this thread is 6 years old. Is there a way to do this yet?
