Doesn't work for me. Select bar, Right-click and choose “Delete Selected Bars” does, however, work.

I've not heard of ctrl+delete (or ctrl+del) not working on linux. Is it defined in your shortcuts as Timewise delete, which is what it was called in 3.0.0?

And why should I have to define a shortcut for an editing feature? In any case Timewise Delete doesn't appear to be selectable in the Shortcuts.
I downloaded the latest AppImage to see if it changed things (it doesn't):
OS: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.2., revision: 8ca4d2c
And just in case it made a difference, I usually have my keyboard set up for entering Spanish letters with accents [using English(UK International with Dead Keys)] but reverting to a standard English UK or US keyboard settings made no differnce.

You don't have to define the shortcut, it's defined by default...I thought it was a definable shortcut...I see now in 3.0.2, it's called "Remove selected range" now in the shortcuts list and is also under the Tools menu. It seemed odd to me that this shortcut isn't on Ubuntu by default.

Could it be you are re-using a shortcuts definition file from an older version of MuseScore? That would explain why you aren't a shortcut for the newly-named function. Also, depending on how you answered the startup question on keyboard layout, maybe it is something else?
