when you type the | is supposed to be right next to the letter, however the bar is several letters above
for instance typing a | the bar is over here.

Also same thing when I drag the notes the note is not synced to the mouse.
I'm using the latest version of musescore 3.

Not quite sure what you mean by dragging notes, but anyhow, the text cursor works fine for me. Can you post more details - which OS, what monitor resolution, what scaling factor if any is applied in your OS, a score demonstrating the problem (so we can see if there is a font issue) and a screenshot so we can be sure what you are talking about.

I'm on Widows 10 pro 1080p. I should have the default scaling factor for my laptop, I never changed anything.
Actually did some experimentation. I use two monitors, one is a laptop monitor which i think is 15.7 inches and the other is a slightly larger regular monitor to the left of the first. The glitch is only happening on my second moniter which makes me think somehow there is an issue from the scaling from the first monitor to the second. Unfortunately Alt Printscreen or the basic windows screen recorder works only on screen 1, so if you know of any other way I can take a video/picture I'd be grateful. Thanks!

Default scaling for your laptop is what I'm wondering about, it's a Windows display setting somewhere. Many high-resolution laptops set this to 150% and this apparently causes some problems, although not normally this one.

As for a screenshot, when all else fails you could use a cellphone/camera. But I'm not sure how useful it would be, I can picture what you mean in my head but still have no way to reproduce it.

I think you are right about the scaling.
The scaling size for screen 1 (my laptop screen) is 125% which is the recommended.
The scaling size for screen 2 (my hd monitor though rather old) is 100 percent which is also the recommended.

It would make more sense then that there may be an error where musescore does not transition the scaling difference to screen 2 on screen 2, since it works perfectly on screen 1. I can workaround the problem and just use screen 1 when I want to input text.

If I change the scaling size, what would you recommend I do?

To be honest, I am not sure, there is probably going to be some trial and error here since all systems are different. Is there a way to force MuseScore to start on screen 2? I've never used a system with multiple displays - at least, not as anything but mirrored.

I'm guessing that Windows provides some way of doing this in the Properties of the executable file, but that's just a guess.

Anyhow, I suspect it would be possible for others to reproduce this as well if they have external monitors hooked as second screens with different scaling factors, but now, given we don't have precise steps to reproduce this, I'm marking it as "needs info", and maybe someone with access to lots of different hardware to try things out on can figure out the exact steps to reproduce.
