Customizable measure numbers
I am currently using MuseScore for my research and my intent is to have multiple different musical excerpts in one or two pages, and that's when I bumped into the issue of not being able to input by hand the accurate measure numbers. Of course, these excerpts don't start on measure 1 nor continue in consequent order, which really calls for the solution of manual input of the numbering.
Has anyone dealt with this issue? I would like to bypass the program's automatic numbering, but I don't believe it is possible. Could this be a feature suggestion for the future? It would truly be nice.
In any case, if anyone has thoughts on this issue, I would very much appreciate hearing from y'all.
Immense thanks!

You can adjust measure numbers. Right click the measure and choose measure properties. There is a field that says Add to measure. This number is added to the measure number to adjust the current measure, displayed on the score. The number on the status bar is absolute with no modifications. One thing to keep in mind, every instrument has the same measure number at all times, so changing one changes all of them.

I tried and could not find measure properties by right-clicking either the measure or measure number itself. Perhaps it is because of a difference in software versions? Thanks anyway for your helpful answer.

No, all versions work the same way. right-click (has to be right, not left - might be Ctrl+click or two-finger tap) brings up a menu, one of the items is Measure Properties. If you are using the British translation it will say "Bar" instead of measure.

Hi, Marc, thanks for insisting on your answer. I think my problem was finding where to click so that menu would be prompted. I had clicked and clicked without success, until today, when I sort of found the spot that when right-clicked brings out the menu. I didn't realize it would be a bit fidgety. Thanks again! Now it works!
You can also disable measure numbers then enter them manually as rehearsal marks, but give them measure number style settings.

Thanks for that suggestion as well. It's a handy bypass!
Mike and Marc, I just want to really thank y'all for lending a little bit of your time to teach me how to figure this one out. Much success to all of you! Have a wonderful summer and all the best.
